The large windows of the Victorian terrace reflect a purple winter sky and the chimney pots of nearby houses, while a Monkey Puzzle tree in the corner serves as a reminder of bygone times.
This fine art print is reproduced from my original oil painting of a Glasgow terrace at dusk. The painting plays with reflection and layers: sky mirrored in glass, rooftops doubled in the windows, and the spiky silhouette of the Monkey Puzzle tree, a favourite of Victorian gardeners, standing quietly in the corner. It’s a scene many Glaswegians will recognise, with that moody winter light and the sense of a city holding onto its history.
