White sands, open sea and that Islay light.
About the artwork
There's something about the light on Islay, the island famous for its peaty single malt whisky and white beaches. The island is known for its stunning white sands, and I couldn't resist painting them. Kintra Bay is just one of those landmark beaches, a wide, pale sweep of shoreline where sea, sand and sky seem to melt into one another.
Painted in oils, the original captures the clarity of the light, the colour of the water and the sense of space that makes this stretch of coast so memorable. This canvas print reproduces the depth and brushwork of the painting faithfully, so the scene feels as bright and open on your wall as it does in person.
Why you'll love it
- A lovely reminder of Islay for anyone who has walked these sands, or dreams of doing so
- Fresh, calming colours that suit living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and bathrooms
- A thoughtful gift for beach lovers, whisky enthusiasts and devotees of the Scottish islands
- Reproduced from an original painting, not a stock image
