I love this row of beautiful blonde sandstone tenements with their ‘corporation green’ painted windows adding a distinctive touch of Glasgow’s history. The view takes you into the heart of Pollokshields, a beautiful conservation area full of character.
This fine art print is reproduced from my original oil painting of Glencairn Drive on the south side of Glasgow. The painting celebrates the warm glow of the sandstone against the cool, muted green of the window frames, a colour combination that will be instantly familiar to anyone who knows the city’s tenement streets. The strong perspective draws the eye down the street, showcasing the bay windows along the way.
